Booking a repair
How do I request a dryer repair?
You can call, or request a repair online from the form on the homepage or the contact page. Tell us whether the dryer is gas or electric, the brand and model number if you have it, and what the dryer is doing. That lets the visit be planned around the right parts and tools.
What information should I have ready?
Gas or electric, the brand and model number (on a tag inside the door frame or on the back), what the dryer does and when it started, and whether it is stacked or in a closet. A photo of the model tag helps. If you smell gas, leave the house and call 911 and Atmos Energy first.
Can I book online?
Yes. There is a request form on the homepage and the contact page, and you can call as well. Either way, the details above help. For a gas smell, burning or a hot outlet, do not wait for a booking: stop using the dryer and treat it as a safety issue.
Do I need to be home for the repair?
An adult should be there to show the technician the dryer, approve the price and see the finished repair. If that is not possible, tell us when you book so the visit can be planned. A written price should always be approved before work starts.
What happens after I book?
You receive a time window for the visit. The technician diagnoses the fault at your home, tells you what failed, and gives you the full price in writing before any work starts. If you agree, the repair is done and the dryer is tested. See how dryer repair works.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Tell us as early as you can if your plans change, and ask about the cancellation policy when you book. Policies vary, so ask about any fee for a late change, and get the answer in writing if it matters to you.
Service area and timing
Which parts of Plano do you serve?
Plano ZIP codes 75023, 75024, 75025, 75074, 75075, 75093 and 75094. See the service areas page for west, east, north and central Plano. If you are not sure whether your address is covered, ask when you book.
Do you serve areas outside Plano?
This site covers the Plano ZIP codes listed above. If you live outside them, ask when you call, and we will tell you whether we can help or point you elsewhere.
How soon can someone come?
It depends on demand and the schedule, so there is no fixed promise. You receive a time window when you book. Calling early, and saying if the dryer is a safety concern or needed by a certain date, helps. See emergency and fast-turnaround repair.
What are your hours?
Ask when you book, and you will be given a time window for the visit. The contact page lists the ways to reach us.
What if the dryer is a gas dryer?
Gas dryers are repaired like electric ones, with extra safety steps. The technician checks the gas shutoff, tests the igniter, valve coils and sensors, and stops if there is a smell of gas. Gas piping and the shutoff valve belong to a licensed plumber.
Price and payment
Is there a service call fee?
Many companies charge one, and policies vary. Ask the amount, what it covers and whether it is credited toward the repair when you book, and check it appears in writing. See service call fee explained.
Will I get the price before the work starts?
Yes. The technician diagnoses the fault and gives you the full price in writing before any work starts, and nothing is done until you approve it.
How much does a repair cost?
Most Plano dryer repairs cost about $150 to $400, parts and labor included, and clearing a vent about $100 to $200. These are typical estimates, not a quote. See the cost guide.
How do I pay?
Ask when you book which payment methods are accepted, and check that the invoice is itemized. Keep the invoice, because it carries the warranty terms.
Can the price change after the technician starts?
A price you approved in writing should not rise without your agreement. If a second fault is found, the technician should stop, explain it and give you a new price before any further work. You can decline the extra work.
Warranty and follow-up
Is the repair covered by a warranty?
Ask what the warranty covers, for how long and what voids it, and get the terms in writing with the estimate. See repair warranty explained.
What if the same problem comes back?
Contact the company right away and refer to the warranty terms in writing. A good company will re-test and look for the cause, such as a blocked vent, rather than only replacing the part again.
Do you repair my brand?
Dedicated guides cover Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, Kenmore, Frigidaire, Electrolux, Samsung and LG. For any other brand, tell us the brand and model number when you book, and we will confirm whether we can help. See brands we repair.
Can you repair a dryer I rent?
Tenants should check the lease and tell the landlord first, because the landlord may need to approve the repair. See the renters and landlords FAQ.
What if the dryer is not worth repairing?
The technician can tell you what else is worn. If the repair would cost about half a new dryer’s price, or the dryer is old, replacing may be smarter. See the repair or replace calculator.
