What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They help a site work, remember choices and understand how the site is used.
Cookies we may use
| Type | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keep the site secure and working, and support forms and spam protection | WordPress and security cookies |
| Analytics | Count visits and see which pages are useful, so we can improve them | Google Analytics cookies, if enabled through Google Site Kit |
| Performance | Serve pages faster through caching | Site cache and optimization tools |
We do not use cookies to show you advertising on this site.
Third parties
This site uses Google Analytics, and Google may set cookies to count visits and to see which pages and links are used. The site may also remember in your browser’s local storage that you closed the help panel, so it does not show again for two weeks. Some pages include an embedded Google Map, and Google may set cookies when the map loads. When you click a link to another site, such as for directions, that site may set its own cookies under its own policy.
How to control cookies
- Use your browser’s settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, such as forms, from working.
- To opt out of Google Analytics, you can use Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Session and persistent cookies
Some cookies last only until you close your browser (session cookies). Others stay on your device for a set period (persistent cookies), for example so an analytics tool can recognize a returning visit. Browsers let you see and delete both kinds.
Your choices in detail
- You can block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, or delete cookies after each visit in the privacy settings of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and other browsers.
- If you block cookies, the site still loads, but forms may not submit and some features may not work.
- Deleting cookies removes any analytics identifier, so your next visit is counted as new.
